Production of cheeses of Protected Designation of Origin

We are the oldest cheesemakers in Menorca and we have dedicated more than 75 years to the making of the two types of cheeses of Protected Designation of Origin of Mahón-Menorca.

We make Mahón-Menorca using pasteurised cow’s milk cheese in our very own factory.

Using our natural cellars, we ripen Mahón-Menorca artisan cheese made from unpasteurised cow’s milk fresh from nearby farms, thus continuing the family tradition of cheese ripening and being one of the few companies actively doing so in this day and age.

Recognition for our products

So far, our Mahón-Menorca cheese has been recognised both on and off the island, receiving a number of awards, of which the following stand out:

“Best Spanish Cheeses 2001” in the subcategory of industrial cow’s milk cheeses, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture.

“Gold Medal” in the first national cheese tasting organised by Radio Turismo, Radio Nacional de España.

“Best Spanish Cheeses 2003” in the subcategory of industrial cow’s milk cheeses, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture.
